We have four children,Thomas who has Aspergers Syndrome and is deaf aged 13, Adam who as Dyspraxia, Hypermobility syndrome,low muscle tone,learning difficulties aged 6 and Jessica who is deaf and speech impairments aged 4. It was last November when we applied to the Family Fund to ask for help for a much needed holiday, they was brilliant,we was given a grant for a holiday and for myself to have driving lessons, I think Im still in shock now , we were overwhelmed and so gratefull.After years of taxis and buses to so many hospital appoitments,and not being able to take the children on many days out etc it really was a wish come true for us all.
I started my driving lessons in November 2007 and passed first time in Feb 2008, I was so determined to pass for the childrens sake and because I had been given such a wonderfull chance to change my familys life for the better all thanks to the Family Fund.

Since I passed we have been able to take our children on lots of days out to the beach,the zoo, and we have also started to go camping which the children are loving and us too. Our life has been made so much easier ,as now we can attend all the childrens appoitments without worrying about all the problems using public transport etc caused and we now arrive a lot less stressed. Adam is now able to go to alot more places, it has helped with his pain ,confidence etc has he can not walk far without pain,falling etc.

Thomas has adapted to all the new places we visit,he found it hard to cope using buses etc, the car does not stress him out so alot less melt downs etc.

Everyday we realise how lucky we are to have been given the grant and it really has changed all of our lives 100% for the better,it makes the bad days feel not so bad now. With the holiday grant we enjoyed a lovely week in Wales, lots of sunshine and relaxing days on the beach. We can not Thank the Family Fund enough has with out there help I am certain there would not have been as many smiles and giggles on our outings ,Thankyou xxx
