Who we are

Family Fund extra was formed from the vision, mission and strategy of the Family Fund Trust for families with Severley Disabled Children.

The Family Fund is the largets grant-giving organisation helping families who care for severley disabled children. In 2009/10 Family Fund helped around 53,000 low-income families to the value of £31 million. The Fund provided this support in the form of grants helping children and young people across a whole range of disabilities including learning difficulties,  physical disabilities and mental health problems.

Family Fund extra and the Family Fund work with over 115,000 families and together are striving to provide much needed support for families who care for a severley disabled child or young person.

We represent the interests of families by negotiating with retail partners and corporate companies as well as lobbying the government for better standards of care and quality of life for disabled children and their families.

Family Fund extra is the Family Fund's way of finding new ways to support and make a difference to all families that care for a disabled child or young person.
